Healthcare The CIA World Factbook reveals that Australia has 2.99 physicians and 3.82 hospital beds per 1,000 people, and the average Australian person has a life expectancy of 81.98 years (79.55 for men & 84.54 for women). The OECD states that 6.2% of Australia's GDP is spent on public health, with a further 2.9% of GDP spent on private health.
