Social and Cultural Traits in Italy

SocialItalian culture is renowned the world over. Italians are very conscious of style, in what they eat, where they live and what they wear. Some of the leading designer labels, such as Versace and Armani, are from Italy, and Milan is one of the fashion capitals of the world. The country has made a tremendous contribution in shaping the visual arts, thanks to great artists such as Michelangelo, Giotto, Canaletto and Caravaggio. Italy is the home of opera, and composers such as Puccini, Rossini, Verdi, Vivaldi have excelled at this artform in addition to regular classical music. Italian cuisine is also highly celebrated, and food is prepared with great care. The architecture is heavily Romanesque in style and many Italian cities are exquisitely well preserved. The Italians are a very sociable people and love to talk, a hobby to which their graceful language lends itself well.
