Immigration The United Nations released a report called 'Trends in International Migrant Stock: The 2013 Revision' which stated that 12.4% of the United Kingdom's population was born overseas. A net total of 900,000 people moved to the country between 2008 and 2012 (source: World Bank). we have an article on the 2014 UK Immigration Act.

On 23rd June 2016, there was a referendum to decide whether the UK should remain in the European Union or leave it. The country voted to leave the EU. As yet, this has had no impact on immigration, though it is very likely to in the near future.
