Australia To Hike Visa Fees

Australia will hike visa fees and merge the two administrations responsible for their processing from July 1, 2015.

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) and the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (ACBPS) will become one organization. This process will cause disruptions to visa services, during which time online applications will not be accepted.

Fee increases for visa applications will be 2.3 percent, for those classes of visas that are subject to the greatest international competition, or 5 percent or 10 percent.

Fees for significant investor visas will increase by 50 percent. Fees for onshore and offshore applications will also be aligned.
