Dubai Expats To Benefit From DIFC's Wills And Probate Registry

Expats in Dubai will now be able pass on their estate with far fewer restrictions by using the Dubai International Financial Centre's new Wills and Probate Registry.

The DIFC's Registry enables non-Muslim expats to remove their estate from the requirements of Sharia law. This means that eligible expats can now benefit from the freedom to dispose of, or pass on, their property upon death as they see fit.

Dubai authorities believe that the new Registry will make the territory more attractive to expats and help stem a trend of expats locating their assets overseas.
