Avalon, a company that offers pre-paid funeral plans for British expats in Europe, has opened a new office in the Almeria region of Spain.

The company says that it has seen a 500 percent increase in inquiries from across the region over the past six months. It said the new office will enable residents to visit Avalon in person.

The new office is in Turre, one of five towns in the Almeria region, where more than 50 percent of the registered population is British. Avalon says that the office is equidistant from Avalon's other offices in Costa del Sol and Algorfa and is easily accessible by road from Mojácar, Albox, Olula del Rio, and the city of Almeria.

The company has three comprehensive packages that are available for Portugal and Spain, plus alternative plans for customers residing in Cyprus, Malta, and Turkey.

The company said it gained its first customers in Portugal, Malta, and the Spanish regions of Seville, Jaén, and Cordoba between July 2013 and July 2014.
