Moneycorp has said that its new bureau de change in Paris is "only the beginning" of the company's expansion into the French foreign exchange market.

The bureau is Moneycorp's first outside the UK, and has been launched in partnership with Moneygram, a global money transfer specialist. It is situated opposite the Gare du Nord station, within the existing Rue de Dunkerque Moneygram store.

As part of the launch, the bureau is for a limited time offering currency rates without commission. Ten currencies are available for purchase, and forty currencies are accepted.

Moneycorp says that the move builds on its existing international payments offices in France, Spain and Ireland.

Guillaume Dewael, a Moneygram Vice President, described the new bureau as "a key milestone in our partnership with Moneycorp, combining our existing international money transfer service with Moneycorp's travel currency offer." He added: "This partnership complements our existing service model, creating an even more streamlined foreign exchange offer for our customers."

Further openings are planned for 2015.
