By Fiona Moore, for 14 April, 2015

The Dubai Economic Council (DEC) has proposed measures to make life easier for expats in Dubai.

In a report that proposes measures to improve the emirate's economic prospects, the DEC and Deloitte wrote that the Government should place greater importance on the role played by expat employees and investors.

The report makes numerous suggestions, including that the Government should introduce a pension scheme for certain qualifying highly skilled expats.

The report also proposes allowing visas for highly skilled foreign workers without a sponsor as well as easing the regulations relating to residency rights, freedom of travel, and the foreign ownership of businesses.
