UK To Expand Super Priority Visa Service

By Fiona Moore, for 20 November, 2014

The UK is to extend the availability of its 24-hour Super Priority Visa Service for business travelers and those wanting to travel urgently.

The service, which costs GBP600 (USD940) above normal charges, is already on offer in China and India, and is to be rolled out to seven new locations by April 2015, in New York, Paris, the Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.

The UK Government said that the additional locations have been chosen due to high demand from businesses and high value travelers. It explained that the service is aimed at business leaders, investors, and wealthy tourists, and forms a part of the Government's efforts to support British businesses and secure long-term economic recovery.

Demand in India has been averaging 50 to 60 applications per month, and in China at over 100 per month.

All applicants must meet the strict requirements of UK immigration rules, and applying for a visa through the 24-hour service does not guarantee that the application will be successful.

The UK has recently expanded its Priority Visa Service, which takes three to five days to process, to over 100 countries. It has also opened application centers in more locations around the world and has introduced extended opening hours and premium lounges.
