Chinese business partners of approved UK companies will soon be able to enjoy a simpler visa application process, along with extra support from UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

Participants in the "Select Business Scheme UK" will need only to provide an application form, an invitation letter, and a letter of employment when applying for a UK visa.

The scheme will be available to members of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), the British Chamber of Commerce in China, and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), as well as to companies referred by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).

CBBC members taking part will be given a welcome pack and assigned a point of contact within UK Visas and Immigration for support, information, and to respond to urgent inquiries. All participants will also receive updates from UKVI on further improvements and changes to the visa service.

Dominique Hardy, UKVI's Regional Manager for China, said the arrangement shows the strengthening relationship between UKVI and the trade bodies.
