Virgin Australia has been named Australia's Most Attractive Employer in Australia, with half of voters in a recent survey saying they would like to work for the company.

Randstad awarded second place to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and the Department of Immigration & Border Protection took the third spot.

The Randstad Award, presented in front of senior executives from 150 of Australia's largest employers, recognizes the organizations that are considered to be the most attractive employers in the country, according to over 12,000 Australians of working age.

Virgin Australia was said to be particularly attractive when it comes to having a pleasant working atmosphere, a good work-life balance, and strong management.

Frank Ribuot, CEO of Randstad Australia, said: "it's testament to the company's continued investment towards building its employer brand that this year it has taken the highest accolade."

Aviation was the most popular industry sector.
