Visiting India for more than a Month? Consider a Long-Term Rental

Making the decision to temporarily relocate or visit another country for a lengthy period of time, whatever your reason may be, can be a daunting one. Before you make any decisions it is important to weigh up all of your options – including where you want to visit, where you are going to stay, and for exactly how long you and your family are comfortable staying (if they are going with you).

Finding a place to stay – whether buying property in Dubai or a hotel in India – should be one of your top priorities (along with visa applications, finding schools for you kids if they are accompanying you, and what kind of transport is available in that country). In this article we look at some of the advantages of choosing to stay in a long-term rental:

The Choice is Yours

With a wide range of long-term rentals to choose from, you will be able to pick and choose the right property for you, depending on your wants and needs. If your family is travelling with you, you may need a two bedroom house or apartment to accommodate your children, or if you are travelling alone you may opt for a smaller condo that suits one person’s needs better.

Spend Less and Enjoy More

Long-term rentals offer exceptional value for money, not only because you will be paying a monthly rate instead of paying per night for a room, but because you will have a kitchen where you can cook your meals instead of eating out at restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another way it will save you money is if your partner and children are going with you.  At a hotel you may need to book two rooms, which again will end up costing you more money per night than it would to find a two bedroom house or apartment that will accommodate your whole family.

A Space to Call your Own

A hotel is the first place people look for accommodation when they are travelling abroad, and for short periods of time it is the perfect place to get some shuteye. But if you have had to temporarily relocate for business and want a cosier place to come home to in the evenings and where you can relax on the weekends, a hotel might not be the right accommodation choice for you. A long-term offers a more ‘home away from home’ experience, and depending on what rental you choose, could include luxuries – like a pool, flat screen televisions and a bath – which you have back home. Renting a long-term property with such luxuries could make the temporary move easier for you and your family and help you settle in to your new surroundings knowing you have your own home base.

You Can Choose your Location

Depending on if you’re travelling alone or with your family, you can choose the ideal location you want to live. If you are by yourself, it may be easier to live nearer your place of work. If your family is with you, you may need to find a property outside of town with a garden that is nearer an area with easy access to schools, parks, a medical centre and other amenities.
